FCA Kick Start 5K Runner Training

IMG_1578Current Class Details – Registration for this class is closed.

The Kick Start 5K Running Program is a 12-week course that teaches basic running skills and can enable those who have never run, to run their first 5K. This course is offered by The Lehigh Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes and has a Christian focus, paralleling running and fitness with the Christian life, as well as some fantastic training on several topics related to running and fitness. The course is open to anyone.

The course is designed for all levels of runners. From those who consider themselves a runner, those who “once” considered themselves a runner, to those who “never thought they would” consider themselves a runner. Let us transform your “I Can’t” comments and turn them into “I Did”. Even experienced runners can benefit from this course.

Each week we will start with a scripture-based Christian devotion topic and then discuss the running topic of the week such as injury prevention, maintaining motivation, choosing the right shoes and gear and other topics as well as a group workout and training run. Each participant will be able to participate in the workout based on their own current level of fitness. All are welcome!

At the conclusion of the 12-week course, we will all participate in a celebration 5K event!!

Our Celebration race for the current class is the VIA 5K being held on Saturday, September 10. Race Website

The course is FREE. Handouts will be provided for each week’s running topic.

The course runs June 7 through August 30. No class on August 2nd. 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. See below.
